A Girl's Best Friend

On normal circumstances I would have said Diamonds are a girls best friend. But when it come to Payton and Bo Bo she'd pick the dog over jewelry.

Any body who has ever spend more than 3 seconds with this dog knows that he is a drama queen and that he has to have your undivided attention all the time. And to be honest we were all a little worried about how he would act after Payton was born.

But.... he loves her, he hardly ever leaves her side, except when his mom shoo's him outside.

He sits on the floor and plays with us, he sleeps behind the rocking chair in her room when we are getting her to sleep, and he sleeps in front of her crib at nap time. He watches Baby Einstein with her and of course never puts any of "her" toys in his mouth. He lets her hit him, pull him, and drool on him, all without making a fuss.

So all in all this is just to brag on Bo Bo and to show you how sweet they are together.

I Want My Piggies In My Mouth

I can just about reach my feet!

Oh, Look I got a hold of them - now what?

If only I could just figure out how to bend my leg to reach my mouth!

Well if I can't get them in my mouth maybe I can just put them in Daddy's mouth.

And this is how I feel about the whole tummy time thing!

Before I Was a Mom.....

I got this in an email from a good friend.... and I thought I should share it.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .

Feeling a Little Under the Weather

The past couple of days have not been so fabulous around our house. Payton has been sick with a head cold.

We took her to the doctor and they said "she's just stuffy, put baby nose spray in her nose and use the sucker" ha ha ha let me tell you how well that goes over.

Anyway - she seems to be feeling a little better today, so we'll see.

It's no fun for me or her to be sick so I hope she hurrys up and gets better and back to being silly Miss Payton.

The Things a Man Will Do

To make a fussy little girl laugh!

Yes, those are hairbows in Drew's hair and yes, Payton is thinking "Daddy, what are you letting mommy do to you."

But it worked and she thought it was funny - I know you can't tell by this picture and her grumpy face but she as laughing at her Daddy's new fashion accessories.

P.S. Honey, I'm sure none of your man friends read this blog so don't worry!

You Want Me To Do What

Last week when we took Payton for her check up the doctor told us that we could "try" to feed her some cereal. HA HA HA - TRY being the operative word here.

She was ok with the spoon going in her mouth, and she was ok tasting the cereal off the spoon, but once the cereal was in her mouth without the spoon she didn't know what to think.

Guess we'll just be waiting a little while longer until we are ready to eat off the spoon.

Happy Valentine's Day (or week if you live at our house)

This was Payton's first Valentine's Day - and her daddy has decided that she makes a better Valentine then me - so she got all the kisses this year!

We had a pretty low key Valentine's Day just hanging out together - and then since it's Kimmie's Birthday too, we went and had pizza and played cards at mom and dad's. See I told you nothing too exciting.
But..... Payton sure did look cute in all her Valentine outfits.

Tea for Two

So most of you know that my friend Amy is keeping Payton for me. She quit her job to be a stay at home mommy and offered to keep Payton and it is working out fabulously!

Everyday when I drop Payton off I know she's is going to have a good day. And who wouldn't when you get to play with sweet Carsyn everyday.

And everyday when I pick her up she is in such a good mood. And she's sleeping all night. I'm sure it's from all the playing.

We are so thankful for Amy ad everything she does.

And Payton's thankful because she gets to play all day and do fun things like having tea parties.

Papa Give Me Some of That Biscuit!

Payton has now learned how to grab things off the table. Watch out because she's probably tired of only getting formula and she will grab your plate.

Now we will really be in trouble when she learns that what's on the plate can go in her mouth.

The GREATEST Invention EVER....

... is the Bumbo Seat.

I don't know if you all are familar with it or not, but it is a seat designed for babies who cannot yet sit by themselves but want to.

Miss Payton is going through a phase right now where she wants to be up all the time - she wants you to sit her up so she can see everything. Well this is her new favorite thing.

You just put her in it and put some toys on the tray for her to play with and she is the happiest baby on earth.

I would highly reccomend this product to anyone who has a baby who is learning to sit.

Oh, and I promise she's not giving anyone the bird - well maybe she is because she's tired of getting her picture taken all the time - but I am going to go with the my sweet baby is just playing with her fingers.
