Enjoying Nature

Last Sunday, it was nice and sunny outside - a break from all this rain we've been having! Drew and Dad were heading out to the property to reposition the deer cameras and cut down a few trees.

Payton and I decided to tag along. We had a good time exploring nature together. She sure loves to be outside!

We rode four-wheelers.......

And even played on daddy's big four-wheeler!

Then Payton and I walked around in the woods and did a little nature scavenger hunt.

She loved touching and picking things up. She loved touching all the trees. She must have told me "oooohhhh mamamama" a hundred times. It was so sweet and so fun to watch her explore.

We played in the leaves......

Picked up sticks.....

Picked up acorns....

Found really neat pink rocks.....

Picked lots and lots of leaves.....

Looked at all kinds of animal prints. Kind of cool that there were this many different animal prints in one spot.

Then we found pine cones for our Christmas project.

And more pine cones. She wanted to keep them all.

Then we found some wildflowers. Incredible that in November there are still wildflowers growing.

Papa enjoyed seeing all of our neat things we found. He made us all wear orange just in case anyone would mistake us for a deer. Not that they wouldn't here us from a mile away as much as little miss chatterbox talks.

Then it was time to head back out of the woods.

We had a picnic lunch and rested a bit. It is amazing how much better a ham and cheese sandwich taste when you are not at home.

Then we packed up and head home. Here are the best finds of the day.

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Happy Halloween

We had a lot of Halloween activities packed into just a few days. The weather wasn't the greatest last week - but we made the most of it....
Here's what was going on with Miss Payton.....

Friday Night we went to Grammy & Papa's and carved pumpkins with Randi-Lynn. Payton wasn't real sure about the pumpkin carving - so we gave her markers and were going to let her "color" her pumpkin. Ha Ha Ha - she colored her face instead. So maybe next year the pumpkin carving will go smoother! Thanks for the efforts RL!

Then Saturday we put on our costumes and headed to Carsyn's School for Fall Festival. We saw lots of cute kids - but we were content in the wagon.

And who needs candy when you have Cheerios - I'm sure Corbyn agreed!
And we watch the clowns and then the pre-schoolers sing.

Then the clowns made balloons. Leave it to our "sweet" girls to sword fight with their flowers. Whatever floats their boats - they were having so much fun!

Then the rain started - so we had to leave Fall Festival for some drier activities!
We headed to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa John's to show off our little "Angel"

And who could resist and angel on a car!
And we told Molly "boo"

The headband didn't last very long! I should have never made her wear it but it was so cute!

Then we headed to Grammy & Papa's to Trick-or-Treat! But since it was pouring down rain - we decided to just hang out!
Which really was no problem because Randi-Lynn let us have all the candy we wanted. (don't worry we did not give her the peanut M&M's)

We helped Randi-Lynn hand out the Candy to the Trick-or-Treaters. All 10 of them! Ha it was a slow night for Trick-or-Treating! But everyone that came to the door thought I was just too cute!

And then we changed out of our costume and played with Papa and had dinner!

And of course Grammy couldn't resist this sweet little pumpkin!

It was a fun night - despite the rain!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Happy Birthday Baby!

It's hard to believe how fast a year can go by. Too fast - I'm sure if you ask any parent. Payton turning 1 is a little bittersweet. If only they could stay little forever.

Here's the precious angle we brought home a year ago.

And here's our sweet 1 year old princess! Hard to believe she's a year old already.

But enough of the sappy stuff - we had one heck of a party!

We played dress up......

We opened presents, well more like Mommy, Carsyn and Kate opened presents and Payton played with them once they were open. But who doesn't like to open presents, the three of us sure enjoyed it.

There was so much to look at and play with - it was a little overwhelming I think.

But then Daddy brought it the best present ever! Payton's very own pink Barbie four-wheeler. She loves to sit on Drew's and push the buttons and start it - so this was a huge surprise to her - jut look at the expression on her face - and imagine her saying "oooohhhh"

And why wait - let's ride it now - in Grammy's house!

Then we had cake. The cake was so beautiful and so yummy. (Thanks Grammy for getting an awesome cake)

Payton wasn't too sure about the cake, I don't think she liked the frosting on her hands because she kept tyring to fling it off. I think more wound up on the floor then in her mouth.

Then Carsyn showed Payton how yummy the cake was if you ate it instead of threw it.

Tookie's always looking out for her Peeps!

And it looked like so much fun - Kate wanted in on the action too! The girls were so cute!

Then after cake we took time to visit a while....

We love cousin Cole so much!

And Grandpa John was there too!

And Great-Grandma & Grandpa Lewis came all the way from Michigan for the party.....

And Great-Grandpa Barney from Michigan was there too!

And after the party was over -it sure was nice to sit with Papa and relax!

And then Grammy put me down for a much needed nap!
Whew what a day! It was so much fun - the Party was great! Thanks for all of you who came and all the fabulous gifts you gave Payton - the playroom is full to the gills! Thanks for everyone who helped to make it a success! And we missed all of you who couldn't be there!
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
