Me & My Daddy

When Payton was first born everyone said she either looked like me or like my dad.

But more and more everyday she is looking liker her Daddy.

She's getting so big. She talks all the time and she is trying to roll over. She gets almost over and then can't seem to go the rest of the way. And she gets really mad and gives up. (Told you she's more and more like her daddy everyday). She also wants to be up all the time - either you stand up and hold her or prop her up in a sitting position. She even wants to eat in a sitting position. She sure is growing so fast.

I thought this was the South......

We were just wondering - WHERE IS THE WARM WEATHER!!!!!???????!!!!!!
Record colds this past week and the a few nice days and back to the cold. I have had enought cold weather and I am ready for summertime.

It doesn't help that my child hates to be bundled up in anyway - gets mad when she has to wear a hat - and you can forget about a jacket - she thinks it's torture.

We've tried all different kinds of hats and this one that my mom found seems to be one that she at least tolerates.

But like a good daddy - Drew made her wear a hat when we went shopping on Sunday.

Here she is looking thrilled to have it on.

My Silly Grandpa

For the past two weeks my Grandma and Grandpa Lewis flew south to what they thought was going to be warmer weather and then we had some of the coldest days yet. But nonetheless it was warm inside mom's house. Payton got to spend everyday there with them - and I know she had such a good time. My grandma finally got her on a schedule and she's napping! Thank Goodness. And she sure is a Jabber-Jaw - all day long she talks and talks and talks - and somehow my grandpa just kept her going. They played all day long - which explains why she's been sleeping so good I'm sure. They headed back to Michigan on Saturday - and they will surely be missed. We can't wait for them to come back.

Bathing Beauty!

Now that Payton is taking her baths in her big girl bath tub she loves bath time. She giggles and squirms and kicks and splashes. I am so thankful that she loves the water. Her daddy is convinced that she's going to be a swimmer.

I'm sure she can't wait until she can really play in the bath tub. But for now we are happy that it's no longer a bath on the counter.

Plus every girl deserves a nice warm bubble bath at the end of the day.

Which reminds me - I should get off the computer and go take one myself - now that my sweet baby girl is asleep.

Happy New Year Baby!

Well it's 2009 - I can't believe it. But I have a feeling it's going to be a good year. I turn 25 years old, Drew and I will celebrate 6 years of marriage, we will get to experience Payton's first everything, Kimmie graduates, and so much more.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year! Ours was pretty uneventful. We went to Mom and Dad's for a little bit and played cards but by 10:00 Payton was fussy so we came home. She coincidentally was awake at midnight so this was our first year ringing in the New Year as a family.

Happy New Year Everyone! Here's to a great 2009!

Here's a few shots of Payton and her Aunts early in the night.
